Requisition ID 3966 - Posted - Quality - Punjipatra Job Title (Position Title) : Shift Engineer_Quality Reports to : HOD Location : SSD Punjipathra Department : Quality Section : Designation From : AE To : AE CG Level : Below Executive No. of Opening : 1 Experience (In Years) Min. : 5 Max. : 8 Qualification Required : Diploma Industry Type Exposure : Structural Fabrication Major Deliverable / Job Description/ Roles & Responsibilities Visual & Dimension Inspection: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of structural steel components as per approved drawings, specifications, and QAP; update inspection status in the system accurately. Welder Qualification Verification: Verify welder qualifications (WQR, WPQR, Welder Performance Qualification) and maintain records in the welder register/system. Oven Monitoring: Monitor condition and temperature of Mother, Baking, and Portable Ovens; record readings and ensure compliance. TPI/Client Coordination: Coordinate with TPI/Clients for weld visual and dimensional inspections and resolve observations. Inspection Offer: Send daily inspection offers to TPI for shop floor activities as per QAP and approved ITP. Daily Clearance Report: Prepare and circulate daily clearance reports (Released / Under Inspection / Hold / Rework). Rework Data Reporting: Maintain and submit daily/monthly rework reports with causes and rectification status. NDT Coordination: Coordinate NDT activities (PT/MT/UT/RT), ensure inspections by qualified personnel, and maintain approved NDT records. Training & Awareness: Provide guidance and training on quality requirements, inspection standards, welding practices, and safety procedures. Required Competencies

  • Good knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding, NDT methods and relevant codes & standards (AWS, IS/BS/EN).
  • Familiar with inspection tools, gauges and measurement instruments.
  • Basic computer knowledge; able to update reports on systems.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication drawings, weld symbols, tolerances and standards.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and solution oriented.
  • Team player with positive attitude.
