Overview

• Precisely operate shear machines to cut metal sheets and plates to specified dimensions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to blueprints.
• Perform routine maintenance on shear machines, including blade adjustments, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Conduct thorough inspections of materials before and after shearing, identifying defects, and verifying dimensions against specifications using measuring tools.
• Load and unload materials onto the shear machine, utilizing appropriate lifting equipment and following safety protocols to prevent injuries and material damage.
• Set up shear machines by adjusting blade angles, back gauges, and other settings according to job requirements and material type.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting instructions and material specifications.
• Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain cutting accuracy and quality, and address any operational issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and housekeeping standards to prevent accidents and promote efficiency.
• Collaborate with other team members, such as welders and fabricators, to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
• Report any machine malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately, and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
