Role Overview
Senior Associate role in a sovereign wealth investor’s Public Markets team.
The position focuses on strategic allocation of institutional capital through external fund managers rather than day-to-day position management.
The role reports to the Head of Public Markets and covers equities, fixed income, liquid alternatives, and multi-asset strategies.
Core Responsibilities
- Map the investable external manager universe across asset classes, styles, and geographies.
- Screen managers on performance, risk, factor exposures, drawdowns, liquidity, capacity, and fees.
- Lead qualitative and quantitative due diligence with portfolio managers, analysts, and risk officers.
- Assess manager philosophy, process, portfolio construction, alpha drivers, and team stability.
- Coordinate operational and risk due diligence with risk, legal, and compliance teams.
- Prepare investment reports and present hire, retain, or redeem recommendations to committees.
- Negotiate mandate terms, fees, performance structures, liquidity terms, and side letters.
- Monitor managers against benchmarks and peers and support rebalancing and allocation-sizing decisions.
