Responsibilities
- Prepare reports and design documentation for water, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater infrastructure projects
- Prepare hydraulic models for water, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater networks
- Undertake hydraulic and demand calculations
- Apply local and regional design principles, standards and codes
- Prepare designs using Civil 3D software in a BIM environment
- Support cost and quantity estimation for wet utilities services and advise on value/optimisation opportunities
- Coordinate project submissions, deliverables, reviews and approvals against contract and authority requirements
- Liaise with developers, clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates and support timely decision making
- Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to capability building and quality of deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Relevant experience in infrastructure master planning in the UAE
- KSA and wider GCC regional experience
- Working towards or holding a professional qualification (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, IET or ME)
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Experience with hydraulic modelling and design software
- Strong presentation and report writing skills
- Ability to manage design coordination and authority approval processes
- Sound knowledge of relevant local authorities and standards (e.g., RTA, DEWA, DM, ADM, TAQA, DOE)

About the Role
- Mott MacDonald is currently looking for a Senior Wet Utilities Engineer for its Land Development team in Abu Dhabi, to support with the technical delivery of multiple master planning/land development projects across the Emirate.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Prepare reports and design documentation for water, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater infrastructure projects
- Prepare hydraulic models for water, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater networks
- Undertake hydraulic and demand calculations
- Apply local and regional design principles, standards and codes
- Prepare designs using Civil 3D software in a BIM environment
- Demonstrate strong organisation and timekeeping skills
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Work collaboratively as part of a team
- Support cost and quantity estimation for wet utilities services and advise on value/optimisation opportunities.
- Coordinate project submissions, deliverables, reviews and approvals against contract and authority requirements; identify and advise on any deviations.
- Liaise with developers, clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates and support timely decision making.
- Provide regular updates and inputs to project/design managers, including progress reporting and technical reviews.
Candidate Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in infrastructure master planning in the UAE.
- KSA and wider GCC regional experience.
- Working towards (or holding) a professional qualification is preferred (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, IET or ME).
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Willingness to travel for short term assignments, as required.
- Experience with relevant hydraulic modelling and design software.
- Strong presentation and report writing skills.
- Ability to manage design coordination and authority approval processes, interfacing with project teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of relevant local authorities and standards (e.g., RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality (DM), Abu Dhabi Municipality (DMT/ADM) TAQA Distribution/Transmission/Water Solutions, DOE etc.
- Exposure to international best practices and standards.
