Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and coordinate internal approvals for well licensing activities
- Prepare and submit well licence applications and amendments to regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project timelines
- Submit drilling and completion data including frac information, well logs, and required regulatory filings
- Accurately record well lifecycle activities and changes in Generwell
- Support corporate reporting requirements including well tax, insurance, and net/gross well counts
- Maintain and update well files throughout the well lifecycle
- Submit abandonment reporting (downhole and surface) to regulators
- Record abandonment activities in Generwell
- Process reclamation certificates and update well status records
- Process and track well status changes including start ups, suspensions, and other regulatory status updates
- Receive, file, and submit required well test information and coordinate exchange of downhole information with partners
Requirements
- Certification in Petroleum Land, Well Technician, or related technical discipline
- 7–10 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in well reporting, well technician functions, drilling & completions support, or regulatory reporting
- Strong understanding of downhole information and regulatory submission requirements
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines across various well lifecycle stages
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan preferred
- Knowledge of provincial regulatory requirements and well licensing processes preferred
- Experience with Generwell and related well information systems preferred

About the Opportunity
- We are seeking an experienced Contract Wells Analyst to support regulatory compliance, well licensing, reporting, and information management activities throughout the entire well lifecycle.
- This role requires a highly detail oriented professional who can thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment with shifting priorities and tight regulatory timelines.
- Candidates with strong experience in Alberta and Saskatchewan well reporting and downhole reporting are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Well Licensing: Gather requirements and coordinate internal approvals for well licensing activities; prepare and submit well licence applications and amendments; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project timelines.
- Drilling & Completions Reporting: Submit drilling and completion data including frac information, well logs, and required regulatory filings; accurately record well lifecycle activities and changes in Generwell; support corporate reporting requirements.
- Information Management: Maintain and update well files throughout the well lifecycle; ensure data accuracy and completeness across systems.
- Abandonment & Reclamation: Submit abandonment reporting (downhole and surface) to regulators; record abandonment activities in Generwell; process reclamation certificates and update well status records; support end of life well file management.
- Well Status Management: Process and track well status changes including start ups, suspensions, and other regulatory status updates.
- Well Testing & Partner Communications: Receive, file, and submit required well test information; track contractual obligations related to well data; coordinate the exchange of downhole information with partners.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Petroleum Land, Well Technician, or related technical discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in one or more of: well reporting, well technician functions, drilling & completions support, regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of downhole information and regulatory submission requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines across various well lifecycle stages.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
- Knowledge of provincial regulatory requirements and well licensing processes.
- Experience with Generwell and related well information systems.
- Exposure to wells across multiple Western Canadian jurisdictions.
- Regulatory compliance and licensing expertise.
Pay Rate
- CAD 55.00 CAD 58.00/hour + 4% Vacation Pay.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Duration: August 10, 2026 – March 2, 2027.
Location & Travel
- Calgary, AB (Onsite).
- Occasional field/site visits required.
