Role Description
We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the design function within Bamboo Card's Technology team.
You will work embedded in a squad alongside Frontend Developers, Backend Engineers, and Product Managers, designing the interfaces, flows, and systems that power Bamboo Card's B2B portal, client-facing platforms, and internal tools.
This is not an isolated design role.
You will be deeply integrated into the engineering delivery cycle, expected to think in components, collaborate in Figma, and ship work that developers can build accurately and at speed.
You will also take ownership of building and evolving Bamboo Card's design system, establishing the shared visual and interaction language across all product surfaces.
The ideal candidate is technically fluent, user-obsessed, and thrives in a fast-moving, engineering-led environment.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for product areas — from problem definition to final Figma handoff.
- Design intuitive, accessible, and polished UI for B2B portals, dashboards, and internal tools.
- Ensure consistency across web (React/Next.js) and mobile (React Native) platforms.
- Account for all UI states — edge cases, errors, empty, loading, and responsive layouts.
- Collaborate closely with developers during implementation and iterate based on constraints.
- Lead and maintain the design system and component library in Figma.
- Define and enforce design tokens aligned with Bamboo Card’s visual identity.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze data to inform design decisions.
- Work cross-functionally in agile squads with PMs, engineers, and QA to deliver features.
- Present designs, gather stakeholder feedback, and advocate for user-centric decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating complex product design work — especially B2B SaaS, fintech, or platform interfaces — is essential.
Experience
- 6–8 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on web and mobile product design.
- Proven experience working embedded within an engineering team in an agile sprint environment.
- Experience building and maintaining a design system and component library from the ground up.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex user flows into clean, component-based Figma designs.
- Experience designing for React/Next.js web applications and React Native mobile apps is a strong advantage.
- Background in fintech, digital payments, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, design tokens, and developer handoff.
- Strong understanding of HTML and CSS — sufficient to communicate implementation intent and review frontend output accurately.
- Familiarity with React component architecture and how design decisions translate into frontend code.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and responsive/adaptive design principles.
- Comfortable working with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar) and interpreting usage data to inform design.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, or similar tools for documentation and sprint management.
