Trade Manager – Food Products (UAE / GCC Markets)

UAE (with GCC regional responsibilities)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Trade Manager with deep expertise in the UAE and wider GCC markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import, export, and marketing of food products, along with a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end supply chain.

This role requires a commercially driven professional who can manage sourcing, distribution, regulatory compliance, and customer relationships across a diverse portfolio of food commodities including (but not limited to) any or combiation of meat, fish, pulses, spices, rice, and fresh fruits.

1. Trade & Business Development

Identify and develop new business opportunities across UAE and GCC markets.

Expand and manage a portfolio of clients including wholesalers, retailers, HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Catering), and distributors.

Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and local buyers.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and trade terms to ensure profitability.

2. Import & Export Operations

Oversee end-to-end import and export processes for food products.

Ensure compliance with UAE and GCC regulations, customs procedures, and food safety standards.

Coordinate with clearing agents, shipping lines, and port authorities.

Manage documentation

3. Product & Market Expertise

Demonstrate strong knowledge of food categories including meat, seafood, pulses, spices, rice, and fresh produce.

Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities.

Identify high-demand products and sourcing opportunities globally.

4. Marketing & Sales Strategy

Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies tailored to regional markets.

Support branding, promotions, and product positioning in the GCC.

Work closely with sales teams to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.

5. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

Oversee the full supply chain from sourcing to final delivery.

Optimize logistics, warehousing, and distribution channels.

Ensure timely delivery while maintaining product quality and cost efficiency.

Manage inventory planning and demand forecasting.

6. Customer Relationship Management

Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Address customer requirements, complaints, and service improvements.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

7. Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure adherence to food safety standards, municipality regulations, and import/export laws in UAE and GCC countries.

Stay updated with changes in trade policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field (Experienced person preferred).

Minimum 2–10 years of experience in food trading (import/export) within UAE or GCC.

Proven track record in handling multiple food product categories.

Strong understanding of GCC market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

Key Skills

In-depth knowledge of UAE/GCC food import-export regulations

Strong negotiation and commercial acumen

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Expertise in logistics, supply chain, and inventory management

Strategic thinking with hands-on operational capability

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

Preferred Candidate Profile

Established network of suppliers and buyers in UAE/GCC

Experience working with perishable and non-perishable food products

Multilingual skills (English, Hindi; Arabic is an advantage)

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
