Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of external adjusters on outsourced claims
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of moderate to high complexity
- Manage Catastrophic claims and claims with catastrophic risk
- Handle own litigation/LAT disputes
- Remain up to date on industry trends and case law
- Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre trials, and settlement conferences
Requirements
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 7 years of accident benefits claims handling
- CIP or working towards designation
- Solid understanding of SABs and LAT Common Rules of Practice and Procedure along with knowledge of case law
- Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
