About the Role
WSP is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Archaeology to lead complex archaeological programs across Ontario. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and Indigenous communities.

- Lead all aspects of archaeological assessment requirements aligned with the Ontario Heritage Act, Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, and MCM policy and regulations
- Research, prepare, and submit proposals and reports for a wide range of archaeological projects
- Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules and quality as Project Manager or Project Director
- Provide visible leadership by promoting health, safety and security in projects and teams
- Provide senior technical oversight and review of technical reports to meet MCM and WSP quality standards
- Work collaboratively with Field Operations Lead to arrange internal resources and logistics
- Mentor archaeological staff
- Support business development activities
- Interact with senior leadership, clients, regulators and members of Indigenous Nations and communities
- Analyze and interpret archaeological data
Requirements
- Professional license to conduct archaeological fieldwork in Ontario in good standing with the MCM
- 18+ years of experience in consulting archaeology in Ontario
- Broad expertise in both the practice and business aspects of consulting archaeology
- Expert knowledge of Ontario archaeology and current Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists
- Capable of independently delivering quality work in a deadline driven environment
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring employees
- Able to anticipate business needs and lead initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in quality control of client deliverables
- Experience designing scope and budget for archaeological projects
- Strong understanding of project financial management
- Able to obtain Provincial and Federal Security Clearance

The Opportunity
- As a Senior Technical Manager, Archaeology, you'll play a key leadership role in shaping how archaeology supports responsible development across Ontario.
- You'll lead complex archaeological programs from proposal through delivery, ensuring work meets provincial and federal regulatory requirements.

Compensation
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: CAD 132,700 – CAD 175,800
- MB & ON: CAD 121,100 – CAD 166,700
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: CAD 119,900 – CAD 159,200
- Final salary may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
