Job Description

  • WSP is seeking an Environmental Project Manager with 10 15 years of contaminated sites experience to work in a multi disciplinary team solving complex issues for clients throughout Northern Canada.
  • The position is in the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team and includes planning and managing environmental assessments and remediation of oil and gas sites in the Northwest Territories and Yukon.

Your Impact

  • Participate in a team environment, work closely with Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • Prepare Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plans.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates, schedule field staff and subcontractors, compile data for, and write reports.
  • Responsible for project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation.
  • Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are moving forward.
  • Participate in a limited number of site visits during two field programs (winter and summer).

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • University degree or diploma in engineering, or natural/earth sciences.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models of Upstream oil and gas sites.
  • Experience working in the north is preferred.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace.
  • Professional designation with eligibility to register in NWT and Yukon is preferred.

Compensation

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: CAD 93,700 – CAD 124,200
  • MB & ON: CAD 85,500 – CAD 117,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: CAD 84,700 – CAD 112,400
