Role overview

The Senior Structural Engineer, Design Automation will be based in Hyderabad, India and will report to the Senior Manager of Structural Engineering.

The role contributes to structural design, product development, structural R&D, testing, and design automation for tracking products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze tracker components, including structural loading, wind and seismic forces, and static and dynamic behavior.
  • Perform wind-load calculations using applicable standards, including IS 875 and ASCE 7.
  • Design structural members and bolted, welded, and riveted connections using applicable standards.
  • Perform failure-mode analysis, material and component testing, reliability analysis, and model validation against test data.
  • Develop and improve engineering calculation and design automation tools for product development, bids, and sales activities.
  • Use structural engineering software for finite element analysis, optimization, fatigue, dynamics, kinematics, vibration, and related problems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, proposals, and technical papers.
  • Participate in design reviews and maintain engineering best practices and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Required qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Structural Engineering with an excellent academic record.
  • Three to five years of experience in structural analysis and engineering software such as Staadpro, SolidWorks, RISA, ETABS, ANSYS, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of structural dynamics, analysis, and design, including structural member and connection design.
  • Experience with structural steel, sheet metal, cold-formed steel, wind engineering, wind-load evaluation, or wind testing.
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB and an interest in engineering design automation.
  • Working knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks and their potential application to engineering workflows.
  • Strong engineering aptitude for structural and mechanical failure analysis, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with OpenSees/OpenSeesPy is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities is preferred.
  • Self-motivated collaboration in cross-functional teams is preferred.
  • Renewable energy experience and experience developing structural engineering calculation tools are advantageous.
