Role overview
NextPower is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer with 6–8 years of hands-on experience.
The role focuses on building, optimizing, and maintaining Azure data pipelines and data solutions using MySQL, data modeling, and cloud ETL/ELT processes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
- Integrate data from disparate systems and applications.
- Use MySQL for extraction, transformation, query optimization, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain Azure data lakes and data warehouses.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to deliver data solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline performance and reliability.
Required technical qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles, focused on cloud-based architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Solid MySQL experience, including query optimization, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
