- Perform and lead technical due diligence reviews for energy storage and solar+storage hybrid projects
- Review and interpret project contracts including EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, O&M, LTSA and major supply agreements
- Analyze and validate financial models, assessing CAPEX, OPEX, warranties, degradation, performance assumptions
- Evaluate project energy use cases, operating profiles, and dispatch strategies
- Compile and complete TDD reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations
- Integrate multidisciplinary input to ensure coherent and technically sound final deliverable
- Engage directly with clients, lenders, and developers, presenting technical results and responding to comments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in energy storage, ideally within technical advisory, developer or lender environment
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, performing contract and financial model reviews for energy infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability considerations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Proven client facing delivery experience
- Fluent English required; additional local language relevant to country of application expected

Job Description
- UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Storage Advisory Expert to play a key role in delivering high impact renewables projects and transactions across EMEA.
- This is a client facing, transaction focused position within our growing Renewables Advisory business, offering strong exposure to leading developers, investors and lenders.
- The role centers on the delivery of technical and commercial due diligence support for Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects across energy storage, solar and storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios.
- You will contribute directly to project financing, M&A and investment decisions by assessing risk, performance and bankability across complex projects.
- The Senior Storage Advisory Expert integrates input from multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent, high quality advisory reports for our clients as well as supporting on team growth, mentoring other colleagues and supporting the growth in the region.
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead technical due diligence reviews for energy storage and solar+storage hybrid projects supporting financing, acquisition, and development activities.
- Review and interpret project contracts, including EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, O&M, LTSA and major supply agreements, to identify technical and commercial risks.
- Analyze and validate financial models, assessing CAPEX, OPEX, warranties, degradation, performance assumptions, and other key financial drivers.
- Evaluate project energy use cases, operating profiles, and dispatch strategies to ensure alignment with technical capabilities and market conditions.
- Compile and complete TDD reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations to ensure clarity, quality, and consistency.
- Integrate multidisciplinary input (engineering, financial, and environmental) to ensure a coherent and technically sound final deliverable.
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment with scope, timeline and budget, supporting efficient project delivery.
- Engage directly with clients, lenders, and developers, presenting technical results, responding to comments, and maintaining professional client relationships.
- Identify key risks and mitigation strategies, applying best practices and lessons learned across projects.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
- Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and methodologies for due diligence and advisory services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in energy storage, ideally within a technical advisory, developer or lender environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, performing contract and financial model reviews for energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability considerations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non technical audiences.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how technical and contractual factors influence project economics.
- Proven client facing delivery experience and comfort interacting with senior stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior staff and share expertise across the organization.
- Familiarity with European market, regulatory and policy frameworks related to energy storage.
- Fluent English required; additional local language relevant to the country of application is expected.
