Overview

This role combines high-performance software engineering with the intensive use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot), enabling increased productivity, code quality, and automation across the software lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering excellence, modern development practices, and the adoption of AI to enhance software development efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software based on system and subsystem requirements
- Contribute to distributed, mission-critical ATM systems
- Ensure traceability between requirements, implementation, and testing
- Perform: Development and integration activities, Testing and validation
- Manage and resolve software anomalies and defects
- Apply AI-assisted tools to improve: Development productivity, Code quality and maintainability, Automation across the lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Physics, or similar)
- 4-6 years of experience in software development
- High level of English (written and spoken)
Desirable
Spanish speaker
Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience in: C / C++ and/or ADA,
- Experience with Python scripting is a plus
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Familiarity with: Version control (Git / ClearCase), Issue tracking (JIRA), Requirements management (DOORS)
- Understanding of end-to-end software lifecycle (design, coding, testing, integration)
AI-Driven Software Engineering (Key Differentiator)
Experience or strong interest in using AI-powered development tools, such as:
GitHub Copilot (code generation, refactoring, testing support)
Microsoft 365 Copilot (documentation, analysis, automation)
Ability to leverage AI for:
Code generation and optimization
Test case generation and automation
Documentation generation
Requirements analysis support
Code review assistance and quality improvement
Understanding of best practices for AI-assisted coding, including:
Prompt engineering for development tasks
Validation of AI-generated outputs (critical in safety environments)
Mindset oriented to augmenting engineering productivity with AI while ensuring safety, traceability, and compliance
Domain Experience
Experience in aeronautical or ATM systems is highly valued
Experience in safety-critical, real-time, or distributed systems is preferred

Ability to work in complex distributed systems
High attention to detail and quality (especially in safety-critical environments)
Proactive mindset towards innovation and AI adoption
