The Opportunity

  • The Senior Software Engineer (Backend / Go) will architect, scale, and maintain backend services for Core42's platform.
  • This role requires deep technical expertise, ownership mindset, and ability to lead complex backend initiatives while mentoring other engineers.
  • You will design high performance, secure, and reliable systems supporting mission critical business operations.
  • You will develop PaaS services using Go, including Kubernetes operators, provisioning workflows, and managed service adapters.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop high performance, scalable microservices and RESTful/gRPC APIs using Python (FastAPI/Flask).
  • Optimize backend performance through effective concurrency management, caching strategies, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Design and maintain optimized schemas for SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases.
  • Implement circuit breakers, rate limiting, and graceful degradation to ensure mission critical uptime.
  • Implement comprehensive logging, distributed tracing, and real time metrics (Prometheus/Grafana/Azure Monitor).
  • Partner with DevOps to define Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Enforce backend security best practices including OAuth2/OIDC, encryption, and secure API gateway management.
  • Drive engineering excellence by leading design reviews, defining coding standards, and mentoring mid level engineers.
  • Collaborate with Product and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into scalable architectures.

Go & Kubernetes Responsibilities

  • Develop PaaS services using Go, including Kubernetes operators, provisioning workflows, and managed service adapters.
  • Design and implement Kubernetes operators using client go and controller runtime to automate lifecycle management.
  • Design and implement CRDs that define API contracts for cloud services with proper schemas and validation rules.
  • Implement robust reconciliation loops with proper finalizers, owner references, and error handling.
  • Create and maintain Helm charts with proper chart structure, values, and templates for deploying platform components.

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • 7+ years of hands on backend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python with experience using FastAPI, Flask, and other backend frameworks.
  • Expertise in designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed backend architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Hands on experience with Azure cloud services and cloud native application development.
  • Deep understanding of scalability, caching, concurrency, and backend performance optimization.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Strong ability to influence engineering direction and drive best practices.
  • Experience with message queues and event driven architecture (Event Hub, Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring junior developers.
  • Certification in Azure cloud services, AI application development.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
  • Experience building cloud platforms or PaaS services.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi cloud strategies.
  • Frontend development experience using React, React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience with OpenShift and OpenStack.
