Senior Software Engineer

Key Activities

• Develop high-quality Python applications using software engineering best practices.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment standards.
• Implement DataOps, MLOps, and observability solutions.
• Use Python data science libraries and common machine learning approaches.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with the Data Science team to achieve data science goals.

Key Accountabilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Develop ETL/ELT frameworks for enterprise data ingestion, transformation, validation, and serving.
• Build and optimize data models, data lakes, and analytics-ready datasets.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, security, and compliance across data platforms.
• Monitor and optimize data-processing performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate software defects and testing issues with developers and create retesting procedures.
• Create detailed test procedure documentation for replicability, compliance, and knowledge sharing.

Skills and Experience

• 4–8 years of experience with projects demonstrating hands-on software development.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Minimum academic score of 70%.
• Excellent coding experience in Python.
• Knowledge of coding standards, version management, build processes, packaging, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Working experience with REST APIs and RESTful standards.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and pair programming.
• Strong team-player capabilities with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Customer service-oriented mindset.
