eBay’s Selling Experience organization builds platform capabilities that help sellers list, manage, and grow their businesses across the global marketplace.
The team owns backend systems for seller-facing experiences, including modernization of the Listing Platform and scalable selling infrastructure.
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on distributed systems, architecture, production software, technical initiatives, mentorship, and engineering excellence.
What you will accomplish
- Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and platform capabilities for high-volume, business-critical marketplace workflows.
- Modernize Listing Platform components toward GraphQL APIs, microservices, and resilient distributed architectures.
- Own technical initiatives end-to-end and translate business and product needs into architecture and delivery plans.
- Improve performance, reliability, observability, maintainability, production readiness, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, and partner teams to deliver broad platform improvements.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, debugging support, collaborative learning, and AI-assisted development tools.
