Senior Software Engineer, Android SDUI

Role Overview

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and evolve the Android SDUI renderer and backend services using Kotlin, Golang, and Protobuf.
• Lead architectural improvements and code reviews while maintaining the renderer's visibility, reliability, and operational health.
• Partner with iOS, web, product, and design teams to plan rollouts, align on platform decisions, and influence the roadmap.
• Own large-scale initiatives from design to delivery, including SDUI motion, interaction quality, and migration from legacy rendering systems.
• Mentor colleagues and participate actively in the engineering hiring process.

What You Will Need

• At least 5 years of experience building Android applications at scale, with deep understanding of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Backend development experience with some combination of Golang, Kotlin, and Protobuf, and comfort moving between client and server code.
• Experience building or maintaining a server-driven or declarative UI system; Litho or another DSL-based renderer is a bonus.
• Demonstrated technical delivery ownership within cross-functional teams and strong communication across engineering, product, design, and product management.
• Commitment to readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested mobile code.

• A product mindset for designing platform services used by other engineering teams.
• Exposure to Figma-to-code tooling, design-token or theming systems, or accessibility work in mobile rendering is advantageous.
