Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Role overview

Required SRE experience

• At least 5 years of Site Reliability Engineering or production operations engineering experience at scale.
• Experience with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, customer SLAs, incident management, root-cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and operational tooling.

Cloud and platform skills

• Hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS, including EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, Route 53, and CloudWatch.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Kubernetes networking, and Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and log aggregation.
• Experience with Terraform and familiarity with ArgoCD or equivalent GitOps tooling.

Security and qualifications

• Knowledge of encryption, secrets management, least-privilege IAM, and financial-services audit and compliance requirements.
• An engineering degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification or experience.
• Preferred experience includes service mesh, Kyverno or OPA, Vault or AWS Secrets Manager, FinOps, chaos engineering, treasury systems, and relevant certifications.

Work model

• Hybrid work model in Bangalore with access to the Teciem India office and remote work.
• Participation in a 24/5 on-call rotation is a core requirement.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve resilient, scalable, and high-performing production systems for treasury and capital markets software.
• Define and operate SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and customer SLAs.
• Participate in a 24/5 on-call rotation and lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems.
• Automate operational processes and build tooling using Python, Go, or Bash.
• Operate AWS production workloads and Kubernetes-based container platforms using Helm.
• Build dashboards, recording rules, alerts, distributed tracing, and log aggregation for production observability.
• Define and instrument meaningful service-level indicators from application and infrastructure telemetry.
• Manage production infrastructure changes with Terraform and GitOps deployment tooling.
• Implement security controls for encryption, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
• Support audit, compliance, disaster recovery, chaos engineering, and cloud cost optimization activities.
