Role Summary

  • The position is responsible for leading the organization's risk and compliance framework, ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying and mitigating enterprise wide risks, and overseeing outsourced legal and internal audit functions.

Key Responsibilities Summary

  • Risk Management: Review and enhance the company's risk management strategy; recommend changes to credit limits, products, exposure levels, and risk controls; conduct regular portfolio risk assessments; implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Compliance Management: Lead the compliance function; develop and execute an annual compliance plan; monitor regulatory developments; promote a strong compliance culture through awareness and training; manage regulatory inspections.
  • Regulatory Relations: Serve as primary liaison with regulatory authorities; maintain strong relationships; ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports.
  • Internal Audit Oversight: Coordinate with outsourced internal audit providers; ensure audits are conducted according to policies; track and manage implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Legal Coordination: Centralize and oversee legal matters; manage relationships with external legal service providers; coordinate legal support between departments.
  • Governance & Reporting: Prepare reports for Board, CEO, and Audit & Risk Committee; conduct root cause analysis; ensure departmental activities comply with corporate policies.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (Finance preferred); additional legal background advantageous.
  • Professional Qualifications: Risk, Compliance, Legal, or Governance certifications preferred (e.g., FRM, CAMS, CRCM, ICA).
  • Experience: 10+ years in investment banking, commercial banking, or related financial services; demonstrated experience implementing and managing an ERM framework; experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and senior executives; leadership experience managing risk, compliance, audit, and gov
