Senior Resident Engineer

Role overview

Site supervision

• Lead construction supervision and oversee daily site operations against approved designs, specifications, contracts, schedules, and regulations.
• Lead multidisciplinary civil, structural, architectural, MEP, landscape, and specialist inspection teams.
• Review contractor method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, work programs, and technical proposals.
• Monitor progress, milestones, risks, delays, technical issues, and corrective actions.

Coordination and administration

• Chair progress meetings, construction coordination meetings, and technical review workshops.
• Review interim payment certificates, variation orders, claims, and extension of time requests.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, contractors, operators, and consultants.
• Resolve technical queries, RFIs, and site-related issues in a timely manner.
• Provide project status reports covering progress, risks, quality, safety, and commercial matters.

Quality, safety, and closeout

• Ensure contractors maintain quality standards and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Monitor compliance with HSSE requirements and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, system integration, project closeout, and handover.
• Verify compliance with Saudi regulations, building codes, and authority requirements.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of professional construction and site supervision experience.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Resident Engineer on large-scale building projects.
• Experience supervising major developments including hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, commercial complexes, or public buildings.
• Experience administering FIDIC-based construction contracts.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, inspection procedures, quality systems, and project delivery processes.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering and inspection teams.
• Proficiency in construction management and project controls software.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• A Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management is desirable.
• Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Saudi Arabia or GCC project experience is highly preferred.
• Arabic language skills are advantageous.
