Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Experience: minimum 7 years in contracting Company in UAE

(Senior QS) is responsible for managing all commercial, contractual, and cost control aspects of construction projects.

His responsibilities are detailed here under:

1. Cost Planning & Estimation

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns.
  • Conduct cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.

2. Tendering & Procurement

  • Prepare and issue subcontractor tender packages.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison reports.
  • Participate in negotiations and recommend subcontractor awards.
  • Prepare subcontract agreements and purchase orders.

3. Contract Administration

  • Interpret and administer contract conditions (FIDIC or other forms).
  • Ensure contractual obligations are properly followed.
  • Handle contractual correspondence with the client and consultants.
  • Monitor compliance with project contractual terms.

4. Cost Control & Financial Management

  • Monitor project cost against approved budget.
  • Prepare cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Identify cost risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track variations and financial impacts.

5. Variations & Claims Management

  • Prepare and submit variation orders to the consultant/client.
  • Evaluate subcontractor variation claims.
  • Prepare extension of time (EOT) and financial claims where applicable.
  • Negotiate variation values with consultants and clients.

6. Interim Payments & Valuation

  • Prepare monthly interim payment applications for the client.
  • Evaluate subcontractor monthly payment certificates.
  • Ensure payments are aligned with work progress.

7. Project Reporting

  • Prepare monthly commercial reports for management.
  • Report on project profitability, cost status, and risks.
  • Support project manager in financial decision-making.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (especially FIDIC Contracts).
  • Cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Negotiation and claim management.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and quantity surveying software.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED15,000.00 per month
