Planning Engineer

Planning Engineer

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop the baseline project schedule based on contract requirements and project scope.
• Prepare detailed construction schedules including engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Define activity sequencing, durations, and resource requirements.
• Establish the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project.

2. Schedule Development & Software Management

• Prepare and maintain schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Develop Level 3 and Level 4 construction schedules.
• Ensure the schedule complies with contractual milestones and deadlines.

3. Progress Monitoring & Updates

• Track actual project progress against the approved baseline schedule.
• Update schedules periodically (weekly or monthly).
• Identify delays, deviations, and critical issues affecting project progress.

4. Critical Path Analysis

• Monitor and analyze the Critical Path Method (CPM) to identify critical activities affecting project completion.
• Evaluate float, constraints, and schedule logic.
• Recommend corrective actions to maintain the project timeline.

5. Delay Analysis & Claims Support

• Perform delay analysis using techniques such as time impact analysis.
• Prepare reports supporting Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Coordinate with commercial/QS teams regarding delay-related costs.

6. Resource Planning

• Plan and monitor manpower, equipment, and material resources.
• Ensure resources are aligned with the schedule requirements.
• Optimize resource allocation to improve productivity.

7. Reporting & Communication

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Present schedule status to project management and stakeholders.
• Highlight risks, delays, and mitigation strategies.

8. Coordination with Project Teams

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to align schedules with actual site activities.
• Ensure engineering, procurement, and construction activities are properly integrated.

9. Recovery Planning

• Develop recovery schedules when delays occur.
• Recommend acceleration measures such as resequencing activities or increasing resources.

10. Documentation & Contract Compliance

• Ensure schedules meet the requirements of the construction contract such as FIDIC Contracts.
• Maintain proper documentation of schedule revisions and approvals.

Key Skills Required

• Advanced scheduling and planning knowledge.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project management.
• Ability to perform delay analysis and risk assessment.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

• Pay: Up to AED12,500.00 per month
• Ability to commute/relocate:
• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
