Senior Purchasing Officer – Food & FMCG

Job Summary

Procurement Responsibilities

• Manage the complete purchasing and procurement cycle for food and FMCG products.
• Source sugar, flour, chips, frozen food, and other food commodities.
• Develop local and international supplier networks and evaluate suppliers on commercial and delivery criteria.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, credit facilities, contracts, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor market and commodity prices, compare quotations, and report market updates to management.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while protecting quality and supply continuity.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.

Operations and Reporting

• Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, finance, sales, and operations teams.
• Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements to avoid shortages and unnecessary overstocking.
• Manage cold-chain arrangements for frozen and temperature-sensitive products.
• Monitor shelf life, specifications, quality, and delivery conditions.
• Coordinate import documentation, shipping, customs clearance, and supplier documentation where applicable.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, contracts, and reports.
• Prepare procurement, supplier performance, and cost analysis reports for management.
• Support procurement strategies and policies and resolve supplier commercial, quality, pricing, and delivery issues.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
• Food trading, FMCG, or food distribution experience is mandatory.
• Experience purchasing sugar, flour, chips, frozen food, or similar commodities is required.
• CIPS Level 4, CPSM, and ASCM certifications are mandatory.
• A strong supplier network and proven negotiation experience are required.
• Strong knowledge of food commodity pricing, market trends, procurement, inventory, and supply chain operations is required.
• Strong analytical, commercial, communication, and negotiation skills are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP or procurement systems is required.
• The candidate must work independently, manage multiple suppliers, and meet purchasing deadlines.

Preferred and Advantageous Profile

• UAE purchasing or procurement experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of import, shipping, customs, and food-related documentation is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cold-chain requirements and frozen food handling is preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Established food supplier and distributor relationships, large-volume commodity negotiation, cost reduction, supplier optimization, and local and international sourcing experience are valued.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 7,000–10,000 per month.
