The Global Technology and Engineering Centre in India develops the next generation of home innovation.

Role Overview

The Engineering team develops product ideas, enhancements, and strategic extensions and coordinates functions through product development and implementation.

The role designs and develops aesthetic components for laundry products and solves design problems with moderate guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into subsystem, module, and component design criteria.
  • Develop and verify designs to required schedule, cost, quality, and performance levels.
  • Own engineering releases including CAD, drawings, BOMs, documentation control, and Windchill workflows.
  • Apply DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFx methods during design and development.
  • Perform engineering calculations and manage tradeoffs among cost, aesthetics, performance, and other attributes.
  • Align architecture, supplier, manufacturing, and customer capabilities with product targets.
  • Define work plans, divide project tasks, and drive projects through design, testing, and implementation.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Tech or BE in Mechanical Engineering, or M.Tech/M.E. in Design or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of four to eight years for B.E./B.Tech candidates or two to four years for M.Tech/M.E. candidates.
  • Good written and verbal business communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a global engineering environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with plastics, sheet metal, molding, casting, manufacturing processes, and engineering materials.
  • Knowledge of design for assembly, reliability, manufacturability, safety, GD&T, design standards, and variation analysis.
  • Ability to interpret simulation and test results and knowledge of product development and project planning.
  • Awareness or hands-on experience with Six Sigma, OPEX, Lean tools, practices, and TRIZ methodology.

Key Deliverables

Lead product, subsystem, module, and component designs and release drawings against project cost, quality, and timeline requirements.

Use concept selection matrices, DFMEA, tolerance stack-ups, and DVP tools.

Generate model shop, laboratory, and simulation requests and support virtual and physical builds.

Participate in technical design previews and lead implementation of product changes through PPAP.
