The Global Technology and Engineering Centre in India develops next-generation home innovation.

Role overview

The Engineering team develops and evaluates product ideas and coordinates product development through marketplace introduction.

This role designs and develops mechanical structure and thermal components or modules with moderate guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Generate engineering concepts and communicate them during project and design reviews.
  • Perform engineering calculations and convert consumer requirements into engineering requirements.
  • Perform or support DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and Design for X methods.
  • Create test plans and support virtual or physical product builds.
  • Use Windchill PLM for design release, documentation control, and workflow.
  • Review SIR and BOM data and contribute to PPAP.

Minimum qualifications

  • B.E. or B.Tech with 3-6 years of product development industry experience.
  • M.Tech with 0-3 years of product development industry experience.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Experience designing parts in sheet metal, plastic, casting, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, design standards, and variation analysis.
  • Knowledge of metal, alloy, and polymer materials and ability to interpret simulation or test results.
  • Awareness of project planning, Six Sigma, OPEX, and Lean tools.

Key deliverables

Release product, subsystem, module, and component designs and drawings within cost, quality, and timeline requirements.

Produce concept selection, DFMEA, tolerance stack-up, DVP, validation, verification, laboratory, prototyping, and simulation deliverables.
