Senior Product Engineer I - Automation

Location and Work Model

• The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, and is hybrid.
• The team spends three days per week in the office, Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility for the remainder of the week.
• Candidates must be based in Canada for North American enterprise customer timezone coverage.

Compensation

• The target hiring range in Canada is CA$102.8K–CA$137K.
• The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance; payouts are not guaranteed.

The Adventure Ahead

The Day-to-Day

• Drive complex, multi-sprint technical initiatives from initial concept through deployment while managing scope, dependencies, and risks.
• Design and operate resilient backend services using Go, PHP, AWS, Kubernetes, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Write clean Go code for automation features while maintaining and improving core PHP services.
• Conduct code reviews, lead technical design discussions, write architectural documents, and establish SLOs.
• Mentor engineers, support career growth, and partner with Product and Design on the roadmap.
• Troubleshoot mission-critical issues, address Tier-1 customer escalations, and manage technical debt.

Your Superpowers

• 4–8 years of software engineering experience with deep Go and performance-driven batch processing expertise and solid PHP knowledge.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable microservices, distributed systems, and domain-driven architectures at enterprise scale.
• Advanced hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies and observability platforms such as Datadog.
• Ability to mentor engineers, communicate technical trade-offs, and make sound decisions under uncertainty.
