- Produce and validate daily P&L across physical and derivatives trading books
- Deliver detailed P&L attribution and performance analysis
- Reconcile P&L across front office, operations, finance, and risk functions
- Investigate and resolve valuation and reconciliation breaks
- Analyse and explain market driven versus trading driven performances
- Monitor trading activity against approved risk limits, mandates, and policies
- Identify, investigate, and escalate limit breaches and control exceptions
- Provide independent challenge to trading activities where appropriate
- Support audits, governance reviews, and control framework enhancements
- Independently validate trader marks and pricing assumptions
- Challenge valuation methodologies and market data inputs
- Monitor commodity exposures including flat price, spreads, basis risk, and optionality
Requirements
- 8–12+ years' experience within commodity trading
- Strong exposure to refined products markets, particularly gasoil, jet fuel, and naphtha
- Background in Product Control, Middle Office, Risk Control, or Trading Finance
- Demonstrable experience in P&L attribution, reconciliation, and valuation oversight
- Strong Python programming capability
- Experience developing analytics, automation, and reporting solutions
- Knowledge of mark to market valuation methodologies
- Understanding of futures, swaps, and options
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Product Control & P&L Management: Produce and validate daily P&L across physical and derivatives trading books; Deliver detailed P&L attribution and performance analysis; Reconcile P&L across front office, operations, finance, and risk functions; Investigate and resolve valuation and reconciliation
- Risk Oversight & Governance: Monitor trading activity against approved risk limits, mandates, and policies; Identify, investigate, and escalate limit breaches and control exceptions; Provide independent challenge to trading activities where appropriate; Support audits, governance reviews, and contro

Candidate Requirement
- Experience: 8–12+ years' experience within commodity trading; Strong exposure to refined products markets, particularly gasoil, jet fuel, and naphtha; Background in Product Control, Middle Office, Risk Control, or Trading Finance; Demonstrable experience in P&L attribution, reconciliation, and valua
