Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer – Rolling Stock

Our Rail Advisory team provide expertise in railway operations and maintenance, rail alignment and permanent way, signalling and control systems, telecommunications and rail vehicles. We deliver seamless, personalised passenger experiences, and optimise operations by reducing risks through decades of experience in engineering excellence. We’re helping to empower our customers to change the face of rail travel. We are now seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our highly successful national Rolling Stock team based from our Brisbane office. You will play a key role organising and planning the technical aspects of operational projects including the design and preparation of user requirement specifications, material and component specifications and safety in design requirements.

Mechanical Engineering degree with demonstrated experience in the rail industry

A proven work history when it comes to undertaking investigations, rolling stock testing, fault analysis, problem solving, trial modifications, rolling stock operation, reliability and maintenance and fault and failure interpretation and diagnostics

High level of skill in developing and continuously improving maintenance processes, strategies, scopes of work and modifications to improve rolling stock safety, performance, reliability and cost

Experience in non-rolling stock systems would be advantageous (trucks, reach stackers, ship loaders etc.)
