- Work with patients to identify the physical problem.
- Develop and review treatment programmes.
- Assist patients with joint and spinal problems, especially following surgery.
- Help patients' rehabilitation following accidents, injury and strokes.
- Supervise physiotherapy assistants.
- Write patient case notes and reports.
- Collect patient statistics.
- Educate and advise patients and their carers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions.
- Work as a professional member of a multi disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participate in team meetings.
- Supervise and instruct Physiotherapy Aides.
- Participate in continuing education and courses updating Physiotherapy techniques and information.

Senior Physiotherapist Duties

Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure Physiotherapy equipment is adequately maintained and liaising with the HOD for the ordering of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure Physiotherapy treatments are based on sound evidence of benefit.
- Ensure all adverse clinical events are recorded and reported.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in the on going maintenance of a safe work place through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work.
- Identify and report hazards in the workplace.
- Participate in NMCSH Quality Management System and commitment to processes of continuous improvement activities, including auditing, surveys and needs analysis.
- Other duties as directed by the HOD or the Medical Director/Administrator.
