About the Role
The company is seeking a Senior Paint Formulator / R&D Chemist to develop, optimize, and maintain formulations for thermoplastic road marking materials, cold plastic systems, and water-based and solvent-based paints.

Responsibilities
- Develop and improve formulations for thermoplastic, cold plastic, waterborne, and solvent based road marking paints
- Conduct laboratory testing including viscosity, density, softening point, drying time, reflectivity, and wear resistance
- Support production teams during batch manufacturing and scale up
- Prepare and maintain product specifications, TDS, SDS, and formulation records
- Research new raw materials and environmentally friendly coating technologies
- Ensure compliance with ASTM, EN, AASHTO, and local road authority requirements
Requirements
- Experience in developing formulations for thermoplastic road marking materials, cold plastic systems, waterborne and solvent based paints
- Knowledge of ASTM, EN, AASHTO, BS, IRC/MoRTH standards
- Experience in laboratory testing and quality control
- Ability to support production scale up and resolve formulation issues
- Strong technical documentation skills

Job Overview
- Develop, optimize, and maintain formulations for thermoplastic road marking materials, cold plastic systems, water based and solvent based road marking paints.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications, and performance requirements.
- Support production, quality assurance, and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve formulations for thermoplastic, cold plastic, waterborne, and solvent based road marking paints.
- Evaluate new raw materials, resins, pigments, fillers, and additives.
- Optimize formulations for performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Develop products that meet local and international standards.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of viscosity, density, softening point, flow characteristics, drying time, reflectivity, color consistency, adhesion, wear resistance, and retro reflectivity.
- Analyze test results and recommend improvements.
- Establish product specifications and quality parameters.
- Support production teams during batch manufacturing.
- Resolve formulation and process related issues.
- Monitor product consistency and batch quality.
- Assist in scale up from laboratory to commercial production.
- Prepare and maintain product specifications, TDS, SDS, formulation records, quality procedures, and test reports.
Qualifications
- Experience in developing formulations for thermoplastic, cold plastic, waterborne, and solvent based coatings.
- Knowledge of ASTM, EN, AASHTO, BS, IRC/MoRTH standards.
- Strong laboratory testing and quality control skills.
- Ability to support production scale up and resolve formulation issues.
- Excellent technical documentation skills.
Compensation
- Pay: AED 1.00 AED 2.00 per hour
