Senior Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Role Overview

Asset Operations and Maintenance

• Monitor dam asset condition, availability, reliability, performance, maintenance backlogs, risks, and critical actions.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, corrective, emergency, and condition-based maintenance.
• Support shutdowns, equipment isolation, testing, restart, return-to-service activities, and emergency response.

Failure Analysis and Improvement

• Investigate recurring equipment failures and operational deficiencies and support root-cause analyses.
• Identify assets requiring repair, rehabilitation, upgrade, or replacement.
• Recommend improvements to operating procedures, maintenance strategies, equipment performance, and lifecycle cost.

Project Planning and Controls

• Develop execution plans, activity schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, and implementation strategies.
• Track progress against schedules, contractual milestones, budgets, commitments, expenditure, and forecasts.
• Identify delays, constraints, and risks and recommend recovery measures or revised work sequences.

Technical and Tender Management

• Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities, equipment schedules, and O&M tender requirements.
• Review drawings, calculations, material requirements, technical data sheets, bidder proposals, methodologies, staffing plans, and work programs.
• Support technical and commercial evaluation of variations, claims, and additional-work requirements.

Contractor Supervision

• Review contractor and consultant work plans, maintenance programs, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Monitor mobilization, staffing, equipment, materials, field implementation, testing, commissioning, KPIs, and contractual compliance.
• Identify defects and non-conformances and verify corrective actions, completed quantities, and completion assessments.

Reporting and Handover

• Review inspection requests, test records, progress reports, completion documents, as-built drawings, manuals, warranties, and spare-parts records.
• Maintain asset and maintenance information in SAP or the approved maintenance-management system.
• Prepare technical and progress reports and present engineering findings, risks, and recommendations to management and government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to manage dam operations and maintenance activities across assigned projects and locations.
• Knowledge of asset condition, maintenance history, downtime, failures, reliability, availability, and performance trends.
• Ability to develop O&M, repair, rehabilitation, and improvement execution plans, schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities, equipment schedules, and O&M tender requirements.
• Ability to review contractor and consultant work plans, method statements, technical submissions, testing records, and handover documents.
• Experience using SAP or an approved maintenance-management system to maintain asset and maintenance information.
