Senior Officer – Treasury

Role Overview

Transaction Processing

• Validate and authorize transactions initiated by Front Office teams, including trade economics, counterparties, custodians, and settlement instructions.
• Process government bonds, corporate bonds, Sukuk, treasury bills, M-Bills, EMTN, equities, repo, and reverse repo transactions.
• Manage fixed income lifecycle events such as coupons, profit distributions, maturities, redemptions, calls, and early repayments.
• Monitor collateral and interest calculations for repo and reverse repo transactions.

Settlement and Reconciliation

• Ensure timely settlement through custodians, clearing agents, counterparties, and market infrastructures.
• Resolve settlement failures, unmatched trades, and operational exceptions within agreed timelines.
• Reconcile securities positions, custodian statements, Nostro accounts, treasury systems, and general ledger balances.
• Process corporate actions including dividends, stock splits, rights issues, mergers, and tender offers.

Accounting, Controls, and Change

• Validate accounting entries for accruals, coupon income, premiums, discounts, amortization, and redemption proceeds.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and financial reporting activities.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal controls, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Support audits and timely closure of audit observations.
• Identify STP and automation opportunities and support implementations, upgrades, UAT, and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, banking, economics, or a related discipline.
• Five to eight years of experience in treasury, securities, capital markets, or investment operations.
• Hands-on experience with fixed income, equities, repo, reverse repo, settlement, custody, and corporate actions.
• Experience in a controlled and regulated banking environment.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of treasury accounting, investment operations, SWIFT messaging, and settlement processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, Finacle, Euroclear, and Clearstream is advantageous.
• ACI, CISI, or equivalent certification is advantageous.
