- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Medical Affairs
- At least 4 years within the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven ability to synthesize complex scientific information
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Role Summary
- AstraZeneca is accelerating expansion in rare diseases following the acquisition of Alexion in 2021.
- We seek a Rare Disease Senior Medical Science Liaison for the Western Region, KSA.
- The role provides medical and scientific support to HCPs for the rare disease portfolio.
What You’ll Do Advanced Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide understanding of local medical community and clinical practice trends.
- Share emerging data with HCPs in a scientific, objective, and balanced way.
- Identify and develop scientifically based relationships with KEEs.
- Work with HCPs on scientific activities such as clinical trials and ISSs.
- Identify potential speakers and train them for local events.
- Present scientific data to HCPs in group and one on one settings.
- Facilitate continuing medical education events for HCPs.
Develop or Initiate Scientific Programs
- Provide actionable insights to enhance value and appropriate use of AZ products.
- Engage in strategic planning meetings with payer customers or hospital decision makers.
- Demonstrate expertise in AZ products, emerging therapies, and competitors.
- Support Medical Lead and Marketing Team in developing non promotional and promotional materials.
Act as Scientific Expert
- Continuously acquire and update scientific knowledge on therapeutic area.
- Provide internal stakeholders with understanding of local medical community and trends.
- Provide scientific support at AZ sponsored educational events.
- Gather and share competitor knowledge that may affect company strategies.
- Plan and execute regional medical activities during product launches.
Medical Background Training
- Serve as a medical resource for sales representatives.
- Participate in therapeutic area and product trainings for internal customers.
Medical Information
- Respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved AZ products or unapproved uses.
- Document provision of accurate scientific data in compliance with policies and regulations.
Essential For The Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Pharmacology.
- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Medical Affairs and at least 4 years in pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex scientific information.
- Strong aptitude for learning and applying scientific concepts.
- Experience in Rare Diseases and/or Metabolic Disorders is highly desirable.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to work independently.
