Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and expand Key External Experts (KEEs) including non traditional stakeholders
- Engage in robust scientific discussions and present clinical data to HCPs in group and one on one settings
- Collect and share actionable insights from KEEs to shape Medical and Brand strategy
- Foster scientific partnerships with KEEs to advance disease understanding and evidence based practice changes
- Support evidence generation aligned with medical strategy (e.g., clinical trials, ISSs)
- Organize and facilitate scientific events for healthcare institutions and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide scientific support at AZ sponsored educational events and respond to unsolicited medical information requests
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with the healthcare environment and related dynamics in Saudi Arabia
- Bachelor's degree in medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or biomedical sciences
- Demonstrated expertise in efficiently communicating scientific data at a peer level with HCPs
- Ability to work in matrix multicultural organizations
- Advanced communication skills in English (oral and written)
- Excellent planning and organizational skills

Role Summary
- Medical Science Liaison (MSL) possesses extensive scientific expertise in respective therapeutic area and engages in scientific discussions with KEEs in a non promotional context.
- Accountable for generating actionable insights from KEEs to shape Medical and Brand strategy.
- Field based role requiring travel across assigned territories in Saudi Arabia.
What you’ll do
- Build, enhance, maintain advocacy of Key External Experts (KEEs).
- Identify, prioritize, and expand KEEs to include non traditional stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize accounts based on patient care pathway and map multidisciplinary team.
- Provide AZ with understanding of local medical community, clinical practice trends, and gaps.
- Foster scientific partnerships with KEEs to advance disease understanding.
- Interact in the field with medical community in context of clinical trials, Non Interventional Studies, ISSs.
- Identify potential speakers and train speakers for local events.
- Provide recommendations for advisory board participants and serve as faculty/facilitators.
- Present scientific data to HCPs in group and one on one settings.
- Facilitate continuing medical education events for HCPs.
- Support evidence generation in the region aligned with medical strategy.
- Collect and share actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
- Engage in strategic planning meetings with medication access stakeholders and institutional decision makers.
- Organize and facilitate scientific events on healthcare institutions and multidisciplinary teams.
- Embed comprehensive healthcare system and patient experience understanding in prioritized hospitals.
- Act as scientific expert in priority disease area for internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate expertise and knowledge of AZ products, emerging therapies, competitors, and clinical trials.
- Provide periodic therapeutic area and product trainings to internal stakeholders.
- Provide scientific support at AZ sponsored educational events.
- Plan and execute regional medical activities during product launch processes.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved AZ products or unapproved uses.
- Document provision of accurate scientific data in response to unsolicited questions.
Essential for the role
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with healthcare environment and dynamics in Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or biomedical sciences.
- Demonstrated agility to learn, acquire scientific narratives, and manage ambiguity.
- Demonstrated expertise in communicating scientific data at peer level with HCPs.
- Ability to work in matrix multicultural organizations.
- Advanced communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Excellent problem solving ability and negotiation skills.
- High sense of urgency and commitment to excellence.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable for the role
- Experience in immunology therapy area.
- Demonstrated business acumen and track record of end to end project management.
- Full understanding of medical role in driving innovative value strategies.
- Established track record of basic or clinical research.
