Senior Mechanical Inspector

Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 10 years of experience in oil and gas field projects.
• Experience with rotating equipment and machinery, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and engines.
• Experience as a site third-party inspector for rotating and static equipment mechanical works.
• Very good spoken and written English, including technical report writing.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with international mechanical standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, and BS.
• UAE driving license.

Inspection responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Ensure equipment is installed and aligned according to manufacturer specifications and project procedures, including shaft alignment, grouting, and soft foot checks.
• Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, mechanical run, and alignment tests.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly, and erection of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with WPS, PQR, and project specifications.
• Verify material certificates, inspection and test reports, and documentation against inspection and test plans.
