Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and approve mechanical designs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical calculations
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, SBC, and relevant local authority requirements
- Provide technical recommendations and engineering solutions to improve constructability, operational efficiency, and system performance
- Oversee site execution activities related to HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and fire protection systems
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Monitor contractor performance, work progress, and project milestones
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution
- Support preparation and review of RFPs, technical specifications, scope of work, and BOQs
- Participate in technical evaluations of contractor and supplier submissions
- Oversee testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems
- Review as built drawings, O&M manuals, testing reports, and handover documentation
- Attend project meetings, technical workshops, and coordination sessions with stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 6 10+ years of relevant experience in renovation, retrofit, fit out, or refurbishment projects for commercial, retail, mixed use, high rise, or operational assets
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and fire protection systems
- Proven experience in design review, site supervision, contractor coordination, and testing & commissioning activities
- Familiarity with international and local engineering standards and codes
- Strong stakeholder management, coordination, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within operational environments
- Strong communication and reporting skills in English; Arabic is preferred
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

- Verify that all mechanical systems are aligned with project requirements, operational needs, and client expectations.
- Project Delivery & Site Supervision: Oversee site execution activities related to HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and fire protection systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance, work progress, and project milestones.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure implementation of corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
- Tendering & Procurement Support: Support preparation and review of RFPs, technical specifications, scope of work, and BOQs.
- Participate in technical evaluations of contractor and supplier submissions.
- Support bid clarification processes, RFIs, vendor assessments, and contractor selection activities.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
- Verify system performance against design intent and project requirements.
- Review as built drawings, O&M manuals, testing reports, and handover documentation.
- Support snagging, final inspections, project close out, and operational handover processes.
- Ensure smooth transition from project completion to operational phase.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
- Attend project meetings, technical workshops, and coordination sessions with stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments including FM, Property Management, Leasing, and Project Management teams.
- Provide regular progress updates, technical observations, and risk notifications to management.
- Support effective communication and coordination across multiple active projects and assets.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 6 10+ years of relevant experience in renovation, retrofit, fit out, or refurbishment projects for commercial, retail, mixed use, high rise, or operational assets.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and fire protection systems.
- Proven experience in design review, site supervision, contractor coordination, and testing & commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with international and local engineering standards and codes.
- Strong stakeholder management, coordination, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within operational environments.
- Strong communication and reporting skills in English; Arabic is preferred.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.

- Experience handling operational assets while minimizing business disruption.
