About the Role

Responsibilities
- Perform difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project
- Maintain first level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards
- Supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines
- Ensure that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures
- Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees
- Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site specific safety procedures and industry standards
- Establish and maintain liaison with the discipline design engineering staff
- Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work
- Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions
- Develop discipline construction schedules and monitor progress
- Provide schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager
- Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of proficient experience in mechanical engineering on utilities projects involving design and construction of infrastructure mechanical systems (water/wastewater pump station, wastewater treatment plants, piping systems for water distribution, wastewater collection, drainage, gas, district cooling, etc.) with knowledge of codes, design manuals and construction practices
- At least 3 years experience working in the UAE
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project
- Good written and oral communication
- Proven ability to perform key technical role
- Experience in testing and commissioning of these systems
