Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical design engineering for large-scale projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection design, and multidisciplinary coordination, with the ability to lead mechanical design development across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design development across all project stages (Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, IFC).
- Prepare and review mechanical design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
- Design and coordinate:
- HVAC Systems
• Fire Fighting Systems
- Ventilation Systems
• Mechanical Equipment Selection
- Perform cooling load calculations and mechanical system sizing.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, international standards, and authority requirements.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Review technical submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals when required.
- Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and design coordination sessions.
- Support value engineering exercises and propose optimized mechanical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal quality assurance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical design consultancy.
- Strong expertise in:
- HVAC Design
- Plumbing Systems
• Mechanical Calculations & Equipment Selection
- Proficiency in:
- HAP
- AutoCAD
- Revit MEP
- BIM workflows
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Saudi codes, and authority requirements.
- Excellent coordination, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.
- GCC/Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with governmental and mega projects.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient design practices.
- PMP, LEED, or related certifications are considered an advantage
