Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on the Core Platform team, you’ll play a key part in turning ambitious, open-ended ideas into high-performing, real-world robotics solutions. Your work will span hands-on design, collaborative prototyping, and technical validation, driving innovation in mechanisms, and structures. You’ll develop detailed CAD models and documentation, ensure manufacturability and safety, and work closely with cross-disciplinary teams and vendors—all while adapting to rapidly evolving project needs. Interpret Open-Ended Design Requirements: Help transform broad project requirements into detailed, pragmatic design specifications for new systems and components.

Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with engineers from various disciplines to brainstorm, design, and develop prototype robots that meet challenging performance targets.

Innovate with Mechanisms and Structures: Design and refine innovative mechanisms, interfaces, and structures that elevate robot performance, from energy-absorbing crash protection to ergonomic robot coverings.

CAD Design & Documentation: Create and manage CAD models, engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and test plans for parts and assemblies.
