About the Role
Humanoid is hiring a Senior Control Engineer for its Vancouver Control Team.
The role focuses on software control development and integration of robotic actuators and sensors.
The engineer will develop joint- and actuator-level controllers for precise, responsive, and safe robotic mechanisms.
Low-Level Control Development
- Tune and validate actuator- and joint-space control loops, including PID, feedforward, impedance/admittance, observers, and state feedback, for multi-DoF systems in ROS2.
- Work with EtherCAT, CAN, Linux networking, TCP/IP, DDS discovery, and time synchronization for deterministic real-time operation.
- Implement safety and fault-handling mechanisms for dynamic conditions.
Modeling and Integration
- Build and identify actuator, transmission, and mechanism models, including parallel mechanisms such as differential wrists and ankles.
- Apply rigid-body kinematics, dynamics, numerical IK/FK, URDF/Xacro, and MJCF for control design and simulation.
- Write real-time-safe object-oriented C++ and maintain multi-layer control, CMake, dependency, and Python test tooling.
- Build browser-based HTML, JavaScript, and WebSocket tools for hardware debugging.
