Role overview
Lead functional safety assurance across a major Saudi Arabian transport portfolio.
Ensure transport systems are safe, integrated, and compliant throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with project teams, suppliers, and authorities to manage safety requirements and risks and secure approvals.
Support recognised standards including EN50126, EN50716, and EN50129.
Responsibilities
- Lead system and functional safety strategies, plans, and assurance processes across the transport portfolio.
- Define and evidence safety targets, risks, and acceptance criteria throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee hazard identification, verification, validation, and specialist safety studies.
- Apply recognised standards and ALARP principles to support safe, compliant, and operable assets.
- Collaborate with leadership, project teams, suppliers, and authorities to monitor delivery and secure technical approvals.
- Report on safety plans, requirements, and performance.
- Champion a safety-first culture, support incident investigations, and coach project teams.
- Identify and manage carbon emissions and reductions during delivery work.
