About the Role
KPMG Canada is seeking a Senior Manager for Root Cause Analysis within the Audit Risk Management team. You will perform engagement deficiency analysis and thematic root cause analysis on audit quality issues, using data collection techniques and 5-why analysis.

- Perform Engagement Deficiency Analysis on audit quality issues identified through regulatory reviews and Quality Performance Review program
- Perform thematic Root Cause Analysis on audit quality issues and system of quality management deficiencies
- Utilize data collection techniques including interviews, documentation review, focus groups, and surveys
- Perform detailed 5 why analysis over quantitative and qualitative information
- Present findings related to audit quality issues to audit leaders and collaborate with stakeholders on remedial actions
Requirements
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of experience in a large professional services firm or similar environment
- Experience as an audit manager and/or risk management or professional practice role
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing team members and projects successfully

Overview
- The Audit Risk Management team is looking for a Senior Manager, Root Cause Analysis.
- The role focuses on Root Cause Analysis and Engagement Deficiency Analysis to identify root causes of audit quality issues.
What You Will Do
- Perform Engagement Deficiency Analysis on audit quality issues identified through regulatory reviews and our Quality Performance Review program.
- Following our global guidelines perform thematic Root Cause Analysis on audit quality issues and system of quality management deficiencies.
- Utilize a variety of data collection techniques including interviews, documentation review, focus groups and surveys and perform data analysis.
- Perform detailed 5 why analysis over quantitative and qualitative information.
- Present findings related to audit quality issues to audit leaders in the firm and collaborate with stakeholders in determination of remedial actions.
What You Bring To The Role
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years of experience in a large professional services firm or similar environment.
- Experience as an audit manager and or risk management or professional practice role.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to apply conceptual framework to new and unique situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and ability to generate high quality deliverables.
- Experience and proven ability to manage team members and projects successfully and direct the work of others.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
- Confidence and resilience in dealing with senior partners and challenging situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and professional maturity.
- Proficiency in English at a business level is required.
Pay Range Information
- Expected base salary range: CAD 104,000 to CAD 156,500, may be eligible for bonus awards.
