Job Purpose

  • Lead the organization's legislative and legal compliance agenda, setting strategic direction for understanding, interpreting, and meeting legal obligations.
  • Own the design and integrity of the organization's legal policy architecture and compliance governance.
  • Act as the senior authority on legislative compliance, shaping legal risk posture and driving a culture of accountability.

Legislative Strategy and Policy Governance

  • Set strategic direction for legislative interpretation and compliance.
  • Own the organization's legal policy framework end to end.
  • Serve as trusted senior advisor to executive leadership on legislative implications.
  • Cultivate high level relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Compliance Governance and Legal Oversight

  • Design and own accountability and compliance governance frameworks.
  • Partner with executive leadership to embed legislative obligations into strategy.
  • Direct legislative reviews, compliance audits, and gap analyses.
  • Own assessment and mitigation of legal risk from non compliance.
  • Provide senior legal leadership across cross functional initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in high stakes legal discussions.

Compliance Culture and Capability Building

  • Define and sponsor strategy for building legal and compliance awareness.
  • Champion a culture of compliance and legal accountability from leadership down.
  • Guide and mentor team members to build collective legal capability.
  • Oversee creation of clear resources for legal and compliance knowledge.

Risk Management and Executive Reporting

  • Own identification and management of enterprise level legal risk.
  • Deliver data driven reporting on compliance performance to executive leadership.
  • Ensure integrity and traceability of the organization's legal record.
  • Establish framework for periodic evaluation of policies and controls.
  • Lead impact assessments of compliance initiatives.
