Team and Technology
- Lead designers embedded in cross-functional teams with shared accountability for outcomes.
- Partner with Technical Product Managers, Engineering, business stakeholders, and the GUIDE UX Center of Enablement team.
- Use Figma, Azure DevOps or Boards, GUIDE design systems, Storybook, Microsoft 365, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Define practices, guardrails, and tooling for AI across research synthesis, ideation, UX writing, prototyping, and design-to-development handoff.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, hire, and manage the UX design team.
- Own performance and career development through regular one-to-ones, feedback, and growth plans.
- Build onboarding pathways and cultivate a culture of craft, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Technology Delivery and Execution
- Own UX intake, including triage, sizing, prioritization, and demand-backlog transparency.
- Ensure design is embedded in discovery and delivery and co-own problem framing and success criteria with Product and Engineering.
Operational Excellence
- Establish operating rituals, tooling, throughput measures, and partner-satisfaction measures.
- Run quarterly capacity planning and weekly resourcing triage.
- Maintain the capacity ledger in Azure DevOps and provide a real-time UX view through the Power BI dashboard and Delivery Plan.
Technical and Strategic Direction
- Raise design quality, consistency, and accessibility through critiques, reviews, shared standards, patterns, and GUIDE design-system adoption.
- Define responsible AI practices, guardrails, and tooling across the design lifecycle.
Stakeholder and Resource Alignment
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to scope and sequence UX work against roadmaps.
- Allocate designers based on demand, priority, and continuity while balancing workload and informing headcount decisions.
- Support budget planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and vendor or agency relationships where applicable.
Workplace
- The position is on-site in the greater Seattle, Washington area.
- Potential locations include Downtown Seattle, Federal Way, Lynnwood, and Bellevue Factoria.
- Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, and relocation assistance is not offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience leading or managing designers, including coaching, feedback, and performance development.
- Deep UX craft across research, interaction design, information architecture, visual or UI design, accessibility, and design systems.
- Experience managing capacity, allocation, or resourcing across multiple teams or projects.
- Experience applying AI to design work and defining responsible AI practices.
- Fluency with Figma, Azure DevOps or Boards, design systems such as GUIDE or Storybook, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience leading complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
Preferred Qualification
- Logistics, supply chain, or complex enterprise or mission-critical domain experience is preferred.
