Role Overview

Locations

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• The role requires 7–12 years of SAP experience and 4 or more years of dedicated Vertex experience.
• Candidates need at least one full-cycle implementation and multiple support or enhancement engagements.
• Strong stakeholder management, client-facing consulting, and workshop leadership experience are required.

Required Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Vertex O Series and/or Vertex Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP ECC is required.
• Experience with SAP FI, SD, and MM tax processes is required.
• Strong knowledge of Sales and Use Tax, VAT, GST, and Withholding Tax concepts is required.
• Experience integrating Vertex with SAP using SAP CPI, SAP PI/PO, IDocs, or web services/APIs is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Vertex solution design, configuration, deployment, SAP integration, testing, go-live, and hypercare support.
• Translate business tax requirements into functional and technical solution designs.
• Configure tax determination across SAP FI, SD, MM, and AR/AP.
• Troubleshoot tax calculation and integration issues and support Vertex upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
• Develop functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP and integration teams.
• Mentor junior consultants and participate in client workshops, demonstrations, and architecture reviews.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformation programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of e-Invoicing, e-Reporting, and digital tax compliance initiatives is preferred.
• SAP and/or Vertex certifications are preferred.
• Consulting, communication, solution architecture, problem-solving, leadership, mentoring, and customer-centric capabilities are valued.
