Team and Role Overview

The Tax Global Delivery Network supports global tax solutions through interoperable delivery centers and standardized processes.

The Associate 2 supports day-to-day trade compliance functions for Global Trade and Customs managed services.

The role is an individual contributor reporting to a senior, assistant, or manager.

Trade and Customs Operations

  • Process and review data related to trade and customs operations.
  • Research product engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Review and audit transactional documents related to customs entries.
  • Maintain electronic files and records using internal retention databases.
  • Perform other duties and participate in ad hoc trade compliance projects.

HTS Classification

  • Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes for products across medical, apparel, electrical, electronics, mechanical, and automotive industries.
  • Apply GRI, Chapter, Section, and EN Notes in classification work.
  • Interpret CROSS and BTI decisions and draft classification rationales.
  • Classify goods under HS Chapters 84, 85, and 90.
  • Develop or work with semi-automated HTS tools.

Free Trade Agreements

  • Solicit suppliers for free trade agreement eligibility and country-of-origin information.
  • Monitor supplier follow-ups and maintain accurate solicitation trackers.
  • Maintain records supporting free trade claims.
  • Audit solicitation campaigns weekly and identify process improvements using monthly KPIs.

Client and Team Delivery

  • Interact effectively with the US team and client contacts.
  • Meet client service-level agreements, deadlines, and quality expectations.
  • Share tools and best practices with supervisors and team members.
  • Work across HTS, FTA, PER, RPS, and other workflows based on demand.
  • Participate in technical training, cross-training, and process updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science/Commerce degree from an accredited institution; a master's degree may also be considered.
  • At least two years of relevant trade compliance experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Administrative or data-processing experience is preferred, particularly in professional services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
