Role Overview
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Application Penetration Testing Cybersecurity Research Engineer.
The role advances and integrates application penetration testing practices across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
The position combines technical leadership, offensive security research, hands-on penetration testing, and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead application penetration testing methods and solutions across a broad range of technology stacks.
- Establish mentoring programs and strengthen capabilities in offensive AI, scanning, and security research.
- Advise senior management on penetration testing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks.
- Challenge security strategy proposals to identify gaps, assumptions, and areas of risk.
- Track industry best practices and emerging techniques to enhance security testing.
- Mentor junior team members and promote organizational security awareness.
AI and Security Capabilities
- Use AI-assisted development and analysis tools such as GitHub Copilot and approved code-centric agents.
