In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and implement backend services and web applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using established engineering practices.
- Participate in technical design discussions with senior engineers and architects.
- Integrate backend services with frontend user interface components.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- Break down user stories into technical tasks and deliver them within agreed timelines.
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, and developers in Agile teams.
Work Model
- This is a hybrid position in New York, requiring three days per week in a client or Cognizant office.
Required Qualifications
- Strong Java fundamentals, including collections, concurrency, and memory management.
- Solid experience with Spring Framework 4 or later and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Good knowledge of React 17 and backend-service integration.
- Strong understanding of web application architecture and client-server communication.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Git and Maven or Gradle.
- Strong focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Salary And Other Compensation
- The annual salary is stated as between $46K and $93,500K, depending on experience and qualifications.
