Role Overview
The Senior IT Security Operations Engineer monitors, detects, investigates, and responds to cybersecurity threats.
The role supports the security and availability of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, and security monitoring tools.
- Investigate incidents, conduct threat hunting, and support incident response.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with IT teams.
- Manage and optimize security tools, detection rules, and automation playbooks.
- Prepare incident reports and security metrics and support compliance audits.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
- Five to eight years of SOC or IT Security Operations experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, EDR/XDR, and endpoint security is required.
- Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and log analysis is required.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, Splunk, GIAC, or OSCP are preferred.
